OUR Story
KARS began in September 2011 when mobile paint specialist Kevin Taylor started a one-man paint restoration company out of his garage. There were no big plans, just quality work and honest service. Word spread fast. Friends asked to join, technicians were trained, and within a few years KARS had grown into a full-service auto reconditioning company serving major car dealerships across the metro Atlanta market. New services were added. Paintless dent repair, interior repair, and wheel and rim restoration, and KARS became the go-to reconditioning partner for dealerships who needed fast, reliable, high-quality cosmetic repairs at scale.
Over the years KARS technicians were regularly approached by everyday drivers asking for help with minor cosmetic damage. A dent here, a scratch there, a foggy headlight. These retail repairs were never the main focus, but the team took them on because they could and because people needed them.
Then, 2020 changed everything.
During the COVID pandemic, with dealership work slowing down, the KARS team leaned into retail repairs in a new way. What started as a supplement became a revelation. Everyday car owners needed exactly what KARS had spent nearly a decade perfecting. The skills, the products, the techniques developed for high-volume dealership reconditioning were ideally suited for the kind of small-area cosmetic repairs that body shops either couldn’t do efficiently or overcharged for.
That insight gave birth to KARS Xpress. A dedicated retail cosmetic repair shop at the KARS warehouse in Ball Ground, GA. A place where any driver in Cherokee County could walk in, get an honest assessment, a fair estimate, and same-day repairs from technicians who had been doing this work at the highest level for years.
